TCM Late Breaking News & Prayer Requests
Fellow Sheepdogs:
I’ve just learned that Pueblo (CO) PD Officer Nick Heine collapsed and died while on duty early this morning(http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_9658570 for details). I’ll have funeral information for you as soon as it becomes available. Be in prayer for his fellow officers and family (his mother is also an officer with PPD).
A brother officer recently wrote an article for Law Officer that is excellent reading. Before anyone has a cow, yes, the article does have a Catholic bent to it. As a former Catholic myself, let me assure you that one CAN be both Catholic and Christian (just as one who call themselves “Baptist” may very have never accepted Christ as Savior). Anyway, read and judge the article for yourselves at http://www.lawofficer.com/news-and-articles/columns/Baker/faith_based_policing.html. Jeff also has a very interesting website at http://www.defendusinbattle.org/. Check it out and drop an email to Jeff with your comments.
Speaking of brother officers dying in the line of duty, I’ve been asked by many who read our newsletter to put out a prayer request for the family and fellow officers of NC State Trooper David Shawn Blanton Jr. Blanton was killed in the line of duty on Tuesday. Go to http://www.odmp.org/officer/19429-trooper-david-shawn-blanton-jr. for details.
Another officer is asking for prayer NOW reference cancer surgery for a family member. Jim E. will go into surgery at 1330 hours CMT today. Pray for complete healing and that the experience will bring his relative to Christ (he is not a Believer).
PRAISE REPORT
NM DPS Special Agent and Marine Cameron Fisher reports that (1) he is back on duty after his successful knee replacement and (2) that their new baby is doing terrific. As readers of this forum may recall, Cameron had requested prayer for a situation where their unborn baby had been diagnosed with severe birth defects AND that having the baby would place his wife’s life in jeopardy. Praise God, Carson P. Fisher was born May 23rd with NO health problems and Mom is just fine as well. Awesome news!
That’s it for now. Hope I haven’t missed anyone and let me know if I did. See next week’s newsletter for more. STAY SAFE with your FAITH in HIM!
